Confirming the scoop story
carried by the New Canadian
some two months ago, Pete
Winckler, manager of the
Dominion Champions, the
Weserns Basketball Team has
just announced their plans to
visit Japan on a Barnstorming
tour.
They will leave June 21st on
the Hikawa Maru and will be
the guests or tne All-Japan
Basketball Association during
their two months stay there.
They are scheduled to play
against the more important Uni
versities of Japan as well as ex
hibition matches in the larger
cities of Tokio, Osaka and Kobe.
There is a possibility that they
might leave on May 30 on the
Hikawa Maru, if plans now
being arranged in Japan call for
a longer stay.
Below are two exclusive inter
views given to the New Canadian
by Pete Winckler and Mr. Y. Oka,
of the Japanese Consolate who
was instrumental in bringing
about this tour.

A “he”? Yes a he. No one. not even Sally himself, knows how
the nickname stuck to him. The name which his doting parents

intimate friends and his family group.
. Sally! ~ The name itself typifies the personality of Satoshi.
It ripples with the flow of his humour. It rolls with the gusto of his
hearty laughter. The nickname is sunshiny as Satoshi himself.
