We Have Our Headaches

Hawaiian Nisei Awarded British
Medal Aboard Canadian Destroyer

The composing room of the Japanese section of The New
Canadian resembles a madhouse these days with the staff
busv night and day.
The switch-over from the old to new types, some of which
wore hoplessly pied (meaning all jumbled up in printers' jar
gon), has not been easy.
It is taking tedious hours of sorting out and rearranging,
but the work must be done in ample time to prepare for the
special Christmas issue.
We ask our readers’ indulgence as we go to press this week
with this condensed edition.
We hope to be back to full size next week, and beginningearly in the new year, we have on schedule the twice-weekly
mailing to all our subscribers, as well as an enlarged Japanese
section.

HONOLULU (Pacific Citizen)—A Japanese American
veteran of the 442nd Combat Team was piesented with the
British Military Medal for heroic action in France during
World War 11 at a shipboard ceremony on Oct. 30th aboard
