play of Japanese art to be shown
in Vancouver was previewed at
the Art Gallery on Feb. 10 with
Takeshi Yasukawa, J apanese
Consul, officially opening the
exhibition.
The show, which contains 60
contemporary Japanese works,
including some hand painted
screens, was opened to the public
on Feb. 11 and will run to March
8.

5th Buddhist Confab
Slated for Montreal
MONTREAL — The Fifth
Annual Conference of the East­
ern Canada Young Buddhists’
League will be held this year
in Montreal over the Victoria
Day weekend, May 16-17-18.
The fashionable Berkeley Hotel
has been secured as the site
for the confab with delegates
gathering from Hamilton and
Toronto as well as the host
Montreal chapter.
Official delegates will also be
attending for the first time
from the Eastern United States
Young Buddhists’ League.
The host chapter’s conven­
tion committee is already lin­
ing up a program that will
make this Fifth Anniversary
gathering the biggest and best
ever held. Details will be pub­
lished in forthcoming issues.
