Pickerel

Lake fishing for pickerel seems
to be picking up though the fish
seem to be running pretty well.
Don Kiyonaga caught his limit on
worms at Curve Lake last week
end. We, too. were out for pick
erel and caught our limit but the
fish were small except for a 4pounder. A couple of my hakujin
friends were upf at Ahmic Lake
by Magnetawan and caught their
limit of pickerel in three hours.
These were three to seven pound
fish and were caught with min
nows fishing from shore.
Bass
At this time of year When fish
ing fast or shallow water, we are
apt to hook lots of bass and we
immediately plan to come back
to this bass hot-spot when the
season opens.
But don’t be mislead, these
might, be spawning -ibass which
may be caught repeatedly for
they are just protecting their
spawn and when July 1st rolls
around they might be miles
away.
