of laws and the ways of the world, and rebel in the
sense of dissipating old ideas for new and of losingbad rights for good.
Many of my responsibilities point to the future. I

Canada is considered as a whole nation, Canadians
feel an united feeling of nationalism, but there is also
divided nationalism in each province.

TORONTO.—Some 150 members and friends of the HamiltonToronto Japanese Canadian Anglers Club attended their annual
picnic held last Sunday. In spite of heavy early-morning fog, the
day turned out perfectly.
As for fishing news, H. T.—J.C. Angler Club member. Nobby
Yano is reported to have landed a 10 lb. 3 oz. whopper of a pickeral
from the Nottawasaga River, He caught this fish from the same
hole that popular Nisei “highliner” Kaz Kato usually haunts. Kato’s
biggest fish from this place, however, was a 5 lb. 2 oz. (still nothing
to sneeze about) beauty. This must be quite a secret nest!
The women anglers of the club have been doing them bit too.
Leading the pack with a 7 lb. 7 oz. pickeral is Mrs. Florence Shintani, wife of popular fisherman Henry Shintani, who is recuperat
ing at East General Hospital from a recent illness. She is report
ed to have landed her fish right in front of the eyes of many en
vious-looking men anglers. Good for you, Florence!
We hope that with all this good weather we have been enjoy
ing, the fishing gets better too. Until then, keeping casting and
leave a little space for me, friends!
