Top Ranking Japanese WomanJudoka Visit Canada

OTTAWA. — Whether it’s because of woman’s lib-or growth7

an active role' in martial arts. To make a general survey? of the

Kodoikan Judo Institute in -Tokyo.
Wherever they went they held demonstrations-and cilincs as well
as attending a woman’s judo tournament in Lansing, Michigan.
“There'seems to be more interest in judo among Caucasian
women than the Japanese women. For instance, there’s ’ no open
judo tournament yet for the fairer sex in my country, as you
would have here in Canada, United States and elsewhere’’, said
-Professor Niboshi.

Although there are no definite plans made' yet, the women
felt the time will come when Japan will also host international ;
tournaments so women judokas from all over the* world will be
able to participate.
