lly by Kurosawa. Based on judo pioneer Saigo Shi­
ro, one of Jigoro Kano’s 1st students, and set it late
1880s when the Kcdokan competed with jujutsu
schools for supremacy. Sugata is played by Miura
who is a judo shoda-; All-star cast includes Tetsu­
ro Tamba, Hisaya Morishige. Kano is played by
Nakadai in fictional cole of Kcdokan founder Yano.
