The strength and weakness of any democratic system where freedom
of speech is allowed is that everyone is allowed various platforms of ex
pression, and in many cases, exposure grants a certain credibility.
Therefore, if the protagonist does not aknowledge the moral aspects of
responsibility and privilege, license may become abuse.
To curb within reason the abuse of this freedom, our system has in
corporated certain safeguards (closure in parliament, the war measures
act, etc.) but most, unfortunately, have inherent weaknesses. During the
Duplessis era in Quebec in the 50s there was enacted the infamous
