ecutive meeting of July 2,1986
decided that any member who
is also a member of the “rival”
association (e.g., N.AJ.C.) is
automatically
disqualified
from holding office in the
TJCCA.
Many calls came from the
members to follow the proper
democratic procedure and
allow nominations from the
floor. These demands as well
as other protests from the
floor were ignored by the chair.
The chairman called for a vote
and the slate of 20 was “elect

stated was a “majority of 55
to 30”. In actual fact there
were at least three times as
many “Nay” votes as the chair
man professed.
The whole operation was
conducted so swiftly and
methodically that it left the
majority of the members stun
ned in disbelief that such a
sham election could possibly
have taken place in this coun
try, Canada.
