Hifumi Steppers donate $1,500
to Momiji
(Hifumi Steppers)
TORONTO. — The Hifumi Steppers' Benefit Dance for
the Momiji Health Care Society was a big success with the
event contributing a cheque for $1,500.00. The cheque was
accepted by Mr. Dick Takimoto on behalf of the Momiji Health
Care at the April 4th event held at the JCC Centre.
Light refreshments were served by the Steppers in their
traditional Japanese attire. Ladies in kimonos and men in
red happi coats danced to the tune of “Wakayama-Ondo”
and “Otomi-san” to the delight of the audience.

year's topic was “Righting
Co-ordinator Mr. Ken Noma
said this conference was the
first of several whose purpose
is to educate and instil a
sense of ownership among
students and Canadians of all
ages over this issue. For Mr.
W. Larkin of the East York
Board of Education who clos
ed the conference said that
we, the Japanese Canadians,
represent living history whose
story must be told.
