Lecture Series II (1989) on Sunday, November 26th from 1 to
5 p.m. at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, Room
4-413, 252 Bloor Street West in Toronto.
Dr. Seiichi Makino, professor at the University of Illinois,

be followed by a reception from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
Admission fee is $10 for all non-members and free to all

TORONTO,,-Over the past year, the Princess Ball com
mittee has been working around frustrating timetables and
rehearsal dates which coincided with many high school and
university exams. On many occasions, there were interested
contestants who could not participate due to exam prepara
tion or dates.
To try to aleviate this problem, we have moved the Prin
cess Ball, which has usually been in April, to Saturday, March
31. Hopefully, this will move the event far enough away from,
the hectic exam month to allow everyone interested to enter.
The 1990 Princess Ball Committee will be starting their
meetings in the next few weeks. If you are interested in help
ing out with the committee or consider entering as a contest
ant, please contact Glen Kawaguchi (1990 chairman) at 4230252 or Al Sora-Kunio Suyama at the JCCC (441-2345). The on

tesy ought to come into the
picture in time.
Not just sex tours and insentive; use of money as lev
erage that is creating a hor
rendous image for Japan. It's
much deeper and complex.
Witness the incredible ig
norance of its political lead
ers such as the remarks of
Saisuke Okuno that Japan
was not the agressor in World
War II and besides the Japa
nese freed Asians from the
yoke of white imperialism, or
the callous behavior of a
steel company that turned
the Philippines into a pollu
ted dumping ground after res
idents of Chiba Prefecture
forced the company'out.
Being number one is not so
good, after all. — Kashu Mainichi
