Then it was time to eat.
Large platters of food were

one slight problem for some

It is surprising how quickly

and how the government of
that country showed their
appreciation by presenting
flowering cherry trees to this
small Canadian town as a
token of appreciation. She
asked for more details to
possibly use as a television
feature.
Then it was time to eat.
Large platters of food were
arranged on tables in the
room for a buffet. Presenta
tion of food seemed very im
portant as food on every plat
ter was neatly arranged and
orderly. Such a wonderful ar
ray of delectable traditional
Japanese food including tas
ty morsels of octopus and de
licious black bea s (a tradi
tional Japanese N v Year's
food). There was however,
one slight problem for some
of us ... not a spoon, fork or
knife to be seen.
It is surprising how quickly
one can learn to use chop
sticks. Equally surprising is
how much of that delicious
food can be consumed with
perseverance and a little
luck.
